How long have you been in business?
We have been in business since 1992.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a full service commercial interiors dealership. Our services include space planning, design, installation, electrical and data cabling. Our products range from flooring to all types of furnishings for commercial applications. We can provide lease financing as well.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My family was in the clothing business, so design was always a part of me. I got my business degree from the University of Michigan and have done residential and commercial contracting. Prior to starting Applied Ergonomics, I worked for a company that specialized in office ergonomics. The office furniture business has been an opportunity to blend all of these interests and talents in ever-changing ways. It's a lot of fun.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
First, it's rare for clients to have access to the owner of the company to work on their projects. I have personally overseen hundreds of projects of all types, so my experience level is very high. Second, we are one of the only firms in the industry that really brings expertise in both office ergonomics and general interiors. I personally do ergonomic consulting for clients with discomfort that were referred by their therapists. Third, we are the premier non-aligned dealership in the Midwest, meaning that we work with all of the top smaller manufacturers for office systems, making sure that what we recommend best fits the clients' needs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location and no plans to expand geographically.

We are just a few blocks from the Touhy exit of the Edens Expressway, 294 at 7366 North Lincoln Avenue. This is north of Touhy on the west side of the street.

We prefer checks and can accept most major credit cards.

We primarily service the Chicago metropolitan region and can work anywhere across the country.

What are your hours of operation?
We are in an office building, not a retail storefront, and work by appointment. Customer visits are flexible and can include evenings or weekends if arranged in advance.
