In September of 2004 Sam & Gail Schick from Chicago purchased their 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Franchise and opened their new business with two new junk trucks and one employee. Sam, having left his regional management position with a large company now found himself loading a junk truck. While Sam worked on the trucks his Wife, Gail, a trained computer programmer was handling all the back-office and teaching herself the accounting systems to help start the business.
