National Liquid Fertilizer was founded in 1961 by Felix Medlevin, in a small building on the west side of Chicago. Felix created and hand mixed fertilizers that were marketed to home gardeners in small packages in neighborhood department stores. As that market changed with the general change in retail marketing, he began to manufacture high quality liquid fertilizers that were packaged in 5 gallon plastic jugs. These were shipped to Central and South American countries.
