Founded in 1929, National Van Lines that began in the Chicago area as a horse and wagon moving service and expanded to a nationwide fleet of trucks.
What is your primary product or service?
National Van Lines services include residential and commercial moving and storage domestically and internationally. National Van Lines has been designated a Pro Mover company by the American Moving & Storage Association and holds an A+ rating with the BBB.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
National Van Lines got its start when F.J. McKee, grandfather of current CEO Maureen Beal, began using a wagon pulled by a single pony to deliver ice and coal in the Chicago area. Due to his success in the area, McKee began to branch out, ultimately moving vaudeville sets for acting troupes and even the world-famous Charlie Chaplin. As word got out about the care with which McKee handled his customers’ belongings, greater success soon followed, and by 1916, McKee had an entire fleet of trucks at his command to provide even more moving services.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
National Van Lines has agents across the U.S. serving much of the United States.
